Testing across states has been uneven and as testing gets ramped up, more cases could come to light in states where reported cases are low thus far .
New Delhi (1,458), Thane (1,404) in Maharashtra, Jaipur (1,076) in Rajasthan, Jodhpur (837) in Rajasthan, and Kolkata (781) in West Bengal are the other high-burden districts which figure in the list of top ten districts. The top ten districts account for 53 percent of the confirmed cases nationally.

The coronavirus case count in India now stands at 53,000 cases, according to latest health ministry figures.Over 1,800 people have died due to the virus across the country.
The lockdown 3.0 in India has been extended till May 17.

India’s case count is now roughly double what it had been eleven days ago. This is a way slower rate compared to early April, when cases were doubling every four days. Deaths have also seen slower rise compared to the trend in early April but have picked up pace over the past week. Past seven days
Over the past seven days, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, and Delhi have seen the highest spike in cases among the top ten states with most cases. These three states account for 42 percent of all the new active cases in this period. Over the same period, fatalities have surged the most in West Bengal, Gujarat, and Rajasthan. Over the past two days, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Chennai, and Thane districts have seen the biggest spike in confirmed cases nationally. These five districts account for 57 percent of new cases over this period, data compiled by livestudy24u.blogspot.com last evening shows.
